Denton’s Green Welcome: Packing 450 Sustainability Kits for New Residents

On July 26, 2025, Mean Green Junk Removal joined the City of Denton’s Environmental Services & Sustainability team to assemble reusable welcome bags for new apartment and college residents. These kits contained recycling guides and eco-friendly resources to help new residents reduce waste from day one.

  • Impact: Goal of 300 bags in 2 hours; MGJR helped pack 450 bags in just 1.5 hours.

The Story

“Our goal was to pack 300 welcome bags in two hours,” said Trevan Fenner, owner of Mean Green Junk Removal. “We ended up finishing 450 in just an hour and a half! Working alongside Heather and the City of Denton team reminded us that small actions add up to big impacts when it comes to sustainability.”

The welcome bags were distributed to new apartment tenants and college students moving into Denton. Each included reusable items and printed materials showing residents how to properly recycle and reduce waste in the city.
